Our Facility

Inside the Clinic in Lafayette

New building, new people, and a child who does not love new rooms. That is most first visits, and it is a lot to hold at once. So here is the place before you see it: where to park, which sign to look for, what the waiting room is like, what is behind the therapy room door, and what to do with the brother or sister you had to bring along.

01Getting Here

The big sign says Dentistry. You are still in the right place.

01

Park at the door

We are at 1512 Camellia Blvd in Lafayette. The parking sits right in front of the building, so it is a short walk from the car, which matters when you are carrying a diaper bag on one arm and a toddler who has decided today is a no day on the other.

02

Look for the bottom panel

The sign at the road reads Lafayette Pediatric Dentistry in large letters, with 1512 running down the side. Our panel is the one below it: Hope Therapy Lafayette, Speech, Feeding, OMD. Families drive past it once. Almost nobody drives past it twice.

03

Come in and ring the bell

We share the entrance with the dental office, so you walk in the same door they do. There is a small framed sign on the desk asking you to ring the bell so we know you have arrived, and telling you that Mrs. Sarah, Mrs. Cassidy and Mrs. Sonya are looking forward to seeing you. Ring it and someone comes out.

02Inside the Rooms

Small tables. Small chairs. A door that closes.

There are three spaces your family will use, and none of them are big. That is on purpose. A child who is already unsure about a new place does better in a room she can take in all at once.

The waiting room

Chairs along the wall, a window, and not much else going on. It is a small room, so you are not managing your child and a crowded lobby at the same time. Ring the bell at the desk when you come in, sit down, and one of the therapists will come out to get you.

The therapy rooms

A table at your child's height, a chair that actually fits her, and the tools for that day already set out. The door closes and the room stays quiet. You come in too: parents stay with their child here rather than sitting outside guessing what happened in there.

The gym

A big open room with an orange climbing wall, a green slide, a climbing rope and a raised wooden platform. Some children give you their best words halfway up something. When movement is what unlocks the talking, the session moves in here.

Bringing a sibling

If the only way you get here is with the baby and the four year old both in the car, come anyway. Tell us at the desk, or call ahead and we will plan around it. (337) 478-5880 →
